Since this is a photo diary, the photos will speak for itself. But I’d still put some short caption including time, so you and/or your friends can refer to this blog if you plan to go to Baguio. Everything happened in 36 hours, including travel time. It is best if you have itinerary or list of places you want to visit. From there, you can plan your trip easily. In our case, my friends and I planned our tour over dinner, few hours before our travel time. Reading other blogs can also be helpful.
January 1, 2014, we left the perimeter of Angono, Rizal at around 6pm and arrived in Ali Mall Cubao at 7:30pm. We had dinner and left at 8:30pm. Lucky for us, Victory Liner had an extra Deluxe/ First Class trip that day. It is more convenient than their regular bus trips. Why? Aside from the fact that it has no stop over, their first class trip bus has its own toilet. They also give free snack and mineral water, free wi-fi and has electric plug. Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it surprising? Lol.
We arrived in Baguio at 1:45am-2:00am. It was just 5 hours of travel time, yes, that fast, earlier than we actually expected. We were able to get some decent short sleep at Hotel 45, and woke up at 4am. Taxis are readily available but my friends and I prefer to walk since the Baguio Public Market was just a few meters away. It was freezing cold by the way! We decided to buy some fresh veggies as pasalubong and got back at the hotel at 6 in the morning. Time to prep up for breakfast, and for our first stop, Cafe By the Ruins.
6:30 am -Cafe By The Ruins
Cafe By The Ruins opens at 7am. They serve delectable breakfast and famous for their homemade bacon. More or less P 280/ person.
8:00 am - Burnham Park
Burnham Park is just a few blocks away from the Ruins, so from there, you can walk and enjoy the cold morning breeze of Baguio.
9:00 am - Botanical Garden
Walking from Burnham Park to Botanical Garden is not really advisable. If traveling alone and on a budget, they have public transpo like jeepneys if I’m not mistaken. But if you’re with friends, you can ride a taxi cab since it’s cheap unlike here in Manila.
10:30am - The Mansion/ Wright Park
11:00 am Mine’s View Park
Good Shepherd is also a walking distance away, so if you have enough time you can drop by and buy pasalubong.
11:30am -12:30pm - We head back to our hotel for check out.
12:30pm - Lunch at 50’s Diner
This place reminds me of Hilary Duff’s movie, A Cinderella Story.
2:00 pm - Camp John Hay/ Tree Top Adventure
We tried the Tree drop and Trekking/ Skywalk Adventure.
They also have a branch in Subic.
4: 00 pm - Chinese Temple/ Bell Church
4:30pm - Strawberry Farm, La Trinidad, Benguet
Strawberry picking, fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, strawberry taho, they all have it here! Peanut brittle, pure honey, souvenir t-shirts are also available in the area. Almost every kind of pasalubong actually. hehe.
We spent the rest of the night at Uncle Danny’s place (Paola’s Uncle). Thank you for accommodating us and for helping us out with our baggage.
We left Uncle Danny’s house at 10:30 pm, just in time for Baguio Night Market. No pictures na since there are a lot of people in the area. We head back to Manila at 1:15 am and arrived in our hometown at almost 8: 00 am.
Thank you and I hope you’ll find this blog helpful. Til my next travel! :)
