Nokia’s most remarkable imaging innovation is finally now in the Philippines! Yes, three months after its release in New York, City USA, a new breed of Lumia is on its way to our country, the Nokia Lumia 1020 - “The smartphone that puts camera first”. My blogger friends and I were privileged to witness the unveiling of Nokia’s latest offering held last October 1, 2013 at the Ayala Museum, Makati, City.
We arrived not exactly on time but luckily, the event haven’t started yet. We were able to roam around and take pictures. We also had the chance to talk to Microsoft Philippines Consumer channels group Director, Mr. Jerry Bongco and met Account Manager Ms. Dianne Poblete and Account Executive Camille De Guzman of Cohn and Wolfe.
They invited professional photographers from different fields to create an exhibit using Nokia Lumia 1020.
Amazing photographs, indeed! Photos were taken directly from Nokia Lumia 1020 and were not photoshopped.
Mr. Karel Holub, General Manager of Nokia Philippines, introducing Nokia Lumia 1020.
Mr. Gary Chan, Head of Marketing, Pan Asia, explains how they come up with Nokia Lumia 1020.
Mr. Chan explaining the innovation of Nokia from time to time. And yep, we all know that Nokia was the first ever cellphone brand to release phone with cameras! I’ve always wanted to have this Nokia 7650 way way back. And by the way, my first camera phone is also from Nokia. Such a good brand!
In terms of specifications, Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 have a lot in common. Some say, Nokia Lumia 1020 is a combination of Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Pureview 808.
But of course, they also have their differences!
Photo taken in daylight condition, unedited. It was superb!
Photo taken in indoor, also unedited. Photo quality at its best.
What more can you do with Nokia Lumia 1020? You can set the aperture, white balance, ISO, and shutter speed just like your DSLR cameras! Amazeballs!
Guest speakers talked about their experience using Nokia Lumia 1020.(From Left to Right: Fashion Photographer Yukie Sarto, Food Stylist/ Chef Giannina Gonzales, Freelance Music Writer and Photographer Nina Sandejas, Director/ Story Teller Aaron Mendoza.)
What is an event without any raffle? Hahaha! Kidding. The 3 lucky winners of Nokia Lumia 1020! *inggit*
Congratulations Nokia Philippines for your successful launch!

With Nokia Lumia 1020, Nothing Else Comes Close.
It was a gloomy Monday afternoon and I’m feeling blue, stuck at home and I got nothing to do. Good thing my friend texted me and asked me out so we can catch up since we haven’t seen each other for months. 30 minutes before our meet up, I’m still undecided what to wear. I wanted my outfit to be something catchy (
something ka-pansin pansin kung baga). So, I choose my fave neon aztec button down and my blue and white stripe leggings ( print on print ang peg. lol). For my shoes, I wanted something in plain para naman hindi overdone ang outfit ko. First to fit is a fave, my SM Parisian Blue Loafers. But, I doubted wearing it not because it doesn’t look good on my outfit but because I had an issue before when I used it. Second to try is my Nude Flats with Neon Tip from Solemate ( which I bought for only 150 pesos, cheap no?haha). It’s actually fine but it looks big on my feet, and for me, too much neon is a big NO-NO. So for my final fitting, I played safe by wearing my Zara/ Mango inspired flats (Black Flats with Gold Tip) from Cinderella. It goes very well in any outfit, promise! And now, I’m good to go!
I arrived in our meeting place a bit early so I was able to roam around the mall for a few minutes. As I entered the department store, I knew some people were looking at me while I’m walking. I’m not quite sure if it’s because of my ombre hair or because of my outfit (
Oh, well. I don’t really care. lol). I went straight to the shoe department to see if there’s still some items on sale or new arrivals that I might like. And then I noticed…. Oh my f****** gosh!!! Nagsasalita ang shoes ko from behind! OHHHH NOOOOO!!!! I need to get a pair!!! Yes, it was a wardrobe disaster!!! It is actually the thing that I wanted to avoid but still happened. My friend called and he said he’ll pick me up in 2 minutes. I was panicking, I don’t want him to wait a little longer. I tried to be really quick but still want to score a good pair that will compliment my outfit. Without a doubt, I grabbed this plain red flats from Solemate (Solemate is one of the most affordable but with quality brand of shoes).
It wasn’t the best pair but it saved my day and my outfit as well. That day turned out to be a memorable one. I had great time with my friend, enjoyed our delish food from Conti’s and I got home worry free. :)
Some say, shoes are the least appreciated things in this world. But for a shoe lover like me, it is the most important as it carries the whole outfit. Never ever sacrifice comfort/ comfortability over style. Always remember, a shoes can either make or break your day like what just happened to mine. :)
